Common Questions

Everything you need
to know before reaching out

We know it takes courage to take the first step. These are the questions we hear most often.

Is this therapy?
No. Pathways to Progress LLC provides non-clinical behavioral coaching and wellness support — not psychotherapy, clinical diagnosis, or mental health treatment. Coaching is a forward-focused, goal-oriented partnership. If you need clinical mental health care, we'll help connect you with the right licensed provider.
What happens in a first session?
The first session is a conversation — no pressure, no agenda you didn't set. We'll talk about where you are, what's feeling stuck, and what you'd like to work toward. You'll leave with a clearer sense of direction and whether coaching with Pathways to Progress feels like the right fit for you. Your initial session is free.
Do you take insurance?
Because our services are coaching rather than clinical treatment, they are not covered by health insurance. However, some Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) may cover coaching services. We also offer sliding-scale pricing for those who need it — just ask.
How is this different from regular life coaching?
Pathways to Progress integrates trauma-informed principles into every session — meaning we understand that your past experiences shape your present behaviors. We don't just set goals; we explore the underlying patterns keeping you stuck, and we do it with safety, empathy, and respect for your pace.
Who is coaching right for?
Coaching is a great fit if you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you want more — more clarity, more confidence, more direction — but you're not in crisis or in need of clinical treatment. We work with adolescents, teens, adults, parents, and organizations across a wide range of life situations.
Are sessions virtual or in-person?
Sessions are available virtually, which means you can engage from anywhere that feels comfortable and private for you. Flexibility is a core part of how we make support accessible — we work around your schedule, not the other way around.
